Audacity is a free soundediting tool. There are lots of cool things that you can do with audacity. Record yourself speaking or playing and then edit. Save as an mp3 and burn it to a CD or put it on your ipod. Add cool effects. Record something for a power point presentation. Compose some original music for your blog, website, school project and more.

Get to know the program

 

Copy an mp3 to the computer from a CD.

• make sure that it is in a place that you can find it

 

Import file into Audacity

•   File - open

 

Listen to your recording for verses and choruses

 

Using the selection tool, select one verse and copy.

 

Create a new track

 

Paste your selection on the new track

 

Delete your original track

 

Export your file as mp3

 

You now have a sound clip.
